This class series focuses on the literary devices used by writers across genres to help readers connect to the text. Learning about these devices will help students to understand the literature they read on a deeper level and enable them to apply this knowledge to their own writing. Each lesson will begin with a 15-20 minute mini-lesson, followed by a brief discussion where we analyze why authors use that particular device. The learners will then explore the device further by completing...
-Students will improve their understanding of the literary devices used by authors across genres. -Students will learn to better connect and understand the literature they read by thinking critically about the devices used. -Students will be able to apply literary devices to their own creative writing.

Most classes will require a notebook/pencil. All worksheets needed will be provided by the teacher. If the learner prefers to play games like Kahoot on a separate device, then that will also be needed.
