每週 1-2 小時. Students should use the materials provided and do warm-up and vocal exercises on a consistent basis. Students should ideally practice on their own for 20-30 minutes 4 times a week to learn the notes and pitches to their song and practice techniques learned in class. Everyone has different time constraints so this is just a suggestion for ideal practice. Students will submit videos each week based on the instructor assignment and prompt for the week and will receive personalized feedback so they can make adjustments to their technique. Video responses should be sent in by Friday at 8pm Eastern to receive a timely response. Students will also have the opportunity to use both the Outschool classroom and Flipgrid to share performances with the class, including a flip grid Final Recital. They will also respond to the vocal prompt of the week sharing their experiences working with the material and topic through written discussion or video progress. They can learn from each other's progress videos of the vocal exercises of the week and share their experiences.評估

課堂經歷
In this flex voice class students will learn the fundamentals of singing and how their voice works - including how to breathe properly, how to place the voice, and how to navigate through their vocal registers. Students will work on and craft a solo piece of their own choosing with the personalized attention and guidance of the instructor. Each week learners will learn about a new pillar of singing and receive materials designed to increase power, tone, ease of production, agility, range, confidence, and more! Each week students will receive video explanations and demonstrations, audio recordings with warm-ups and exercises, and a PDF on the week's topic. Topics covered include how the voice works, breathing, onset, resonance, placement and focus, and articulation. Students will learn: - how to support their sound with proper breathing techniques and exercises - how to navigate through their vocal registers and their break - how to mix and belt with ease and comfort - how to access their upper register without tension - how to create space and lift to open up their sound - how to use articulation and vowels to improve your sound - how to use placement and resonance to master different styles - how to craft your own solo performance with confidence By the second week, students will each choose a solo selection in either the musical theatre genre or contemporary genre (rock, pop, r&b, Disney, hip-hop, etc) that will be their solo. After accessing the videos, mp3s, playlists, and PDFs for the week, students will send in videos of their progress so the instructor can respond with personalized feedback to guide them to make adjustments. Each week there will be a discussion prompt regarding the vocal topic of the week for students to discuss and share their experiences through written discussion and/or progress videos. By the last week, students will have a polished and ready to perform solo they can share with others. During the last week we will have a Flipgrid Recital where students can enjoy dressing up, if they choose, and filming their final performance to share. I believe in teaching students strong vocal and performance technique through music they love to sing to build confidence as a performer. As a teacher my goal is always for students to eventually become self-sufficient singers who understand how their unique voice can work for them. I want students to understand what the exercises are for and how to use them in their own practice at home so they can train the whole voice, not just learn an exercise. My teaching style focuses on building technique through training and knowledge, but also emphasizes having fun and building confidence so students can become the singer they want to be!
