In this 5-session course, students will learn how to play 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons. Each day, we will focus on a different aspect of the world's greatest roleplaying game so that by the end of the course, students will be ready to play the game with confidence. The course is broken up into five classes: 1. Character Creation - Students will learn how to build a character, and what sort of considerations make for a fun character. Students will learn how to engage with the game of Dungeons and Dragons from character creation all the way to active gameplay. Students will learn how to create characters, solve problems, engage in combat, use magic, and how to put those skills to use in real gameplay scenarios.

This class uses the virtual tabletop platform “Roll20” to play D&D, allowing learners to see the elements of the game and interact with them. “Roll20” is only compatible with a laptop or desktop computer, so please ensure your learner is not joining from a phone or tablet. You will need to create an account for your learner on Roll20. Once your learner has enrolled in the class, we will reach out with a guide to joining Roll20 and help get their character sheet uploaded.
We will be using Roll20 for class activities: https://roll20.net We highly recommend your student own a copy of The Player's Handbook as it can be excellent for reference and ideas.
