Students will learn the "Sugar Plum Fairy" solo from the Christmas classic, "The Nutcracker." After a brief barre warm-up (pointe shoes optional), we will learn and perfect this iconic solo to share with friends and family this holiday season. Students will learn the original choreography of Balanchine's Sugar Plum Fairy Solo from "The Nutcracker."
I am professional ballerina with over 20 years of training in classical ballet. I have a B.A. from James Madison University in Musical Theatre.
Ballet soft shoes, leotard and tights (or leggings), ballet barre - this could be the back of a chair or sofa, an open space to dance without bumping into anything or anyone, a water bottle, pointe shoes optional.

This will be a physically active class. An open space for safe dancing with a non-slick floor is very important to the safety of this class. Additionally, proper footwear in terms of ballet soft shoes, socks with rubber grips and/or pointe shoes are required. Students should prepare for class with a physical warm-up and stretching as well as having a water bottle nearby to stay hydrated during class. Parent supervision is recommended in order to ensure safety for the students and injury prevention. Thanks for all you do to making this a safe and fun class!
