Learn French with Ms. Erika in this fun and interactive beginner French class. In this class, students will build introductory skills in French by practicing the French numbers 1-20. This class is intended for beginner learners and no previous French knowledge is required! Below you will find a detailed breakdown of the class structure. 

This is an interactive class and each student will have the opportunity to actively participate. As the teacher, I will lead students through each number and model the proper pronunciation. Throughout the class, students will have the chance to gradually practice these numbers more independently. They will also have the chance to build their fluency by practicing the numbers out of order, finding the missing numbers, and skip counting. In this class, your child will have the chance to gain beginner French skills while learning with a fluent French speaker. 

I create a relaxing and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable practicing a new language by ensuring that all learners are included and have the opportunity to participate. In this class, your child will not only gain French language skills, they will have fun along the way!

Introductions (5 min):
- Students will be introduced to the teacher and have the chance to introduce themselves to the other learners. They will learn to say "Bonjour" [Hello] and the sentence frame "Je m'appelle _________." [My name is __________.] to practice introducing themselves. The teacher will explain the topic of the class and any functions that students will need to use on the Zoom platform (raise hand, muting themselves, etc.)

Warm up song  (2 min): 
- The class will participate in a short warm-up chant to get the students ready and excited for class. 

Number Introduction (10 min):
- As a class, we will go through each number from 1-15. We will progress gradually by starting from smallest to largest in sets of 5. Each student will have the chance to practice and repeat after the teacher before we move on.

Practice (10 min):
- To increase their fluency, students will be able to have additional practice learning the numbers. This includes saying the numbers out of order, ordering numbers from smallest to largest, finding the missing number in a sequence, and spelling the names of the numbers.

Goodbyes (1 min):
- Each learner has the opportunity to say goodbye. The learners can repeat "Au revoir, _______." after the teacher to say goodbye to the other learners.
