Hello and welcome to "Learn Awesome Study Skills to Boost Your Grades!". I hope this class will teach you some awesome skills that you can learn and use for the rest of your lives! Please see syllabus for detailed topics. We will be learning about learning techniques for reading and note-taking, test, preparation skills, and time management. Class Structure: We will start with brief ice breaker and question/answer as needed, and then we will move on to the new topics for the lesson of the day. Discussion and class interaction will be encouraged throughout, especially for learners to share information they may be studying for in regards to how to apply the learning and studying techniques we are learning. Finally, we will close with questions and any concluding discussion. Teaching Style: I am a teacher who loves to have meaningful discussions to apply what we learn and I stay on task and keep students focused to optimize the time we spend together! Expect lecture, discussions, slides, and some links to helpful information or videos.

-Copy teacher's board notes and check online platforms for posted notes
-Paraphrase your teacher's words

-Take up as much space as needed

-Develop symbols that represent concepts
-Be sure to write down any ideas that your teacher repeats
-Notice your teacher's verbal cues – “This is IMPORTANT...”
-Highlight your book if you can and other class materials
