每週 1-2 小時. The weekly videos the student is expected to watch will be approximately 30 minutes each week. In addition to the videos, students will receive a photo creation assignment each week where they can choose from several different challenges. They will then upload the photos to the classroom or send them to the teacher directly. They'll also be asked to provide constructive criticism on photos that are posted to the classroom. Because the amount of time the assignments take depends on the student's level of interest and motivation, the work could take between 15 minutes to a couple of hours each week. My hope is for students to spend more time applying the concepts they've learned than listening to the lectures.我們無法翻譯此文,請刷新頁面並再試一次。

Skilled photographers don’t just TAKE photos, they CREATE photos. Have you already been told you have a “good eye for photography.” That’s awesome! Let’s help you develop that eye further by exploring the principles of composition. In this four week flex class, we’ll learn why some photos are much more powerful than others and study the compositional principles photographers use to achieve that success. We’ll look at general guidelines for creating awesome images while investigating the classic rules of photographic composition such as The Rule of Thirds. Each week will include a a set of short video lessons along with a photo assignment with a choice of challenges. The lessons and assignments will be uploaded on Monday mornings by 10am ET. Students will upload their completed photos to the Outschool classroom to present and discuss with the teacher and fellow classmates. Students will learn and apply guidelines for giving and receiving constructive criticism as they share and critique each others’ photos. My goal is that by the end of the class students will be able to look at a photo and identify which compositional technique(s) made that photo special. Students will also have the skills to create more impactful photos themselves. WEEK ONE: - Three guidelines to use when creating every image - How to give and receive constructive criticism WEEK TWO: Rules and concepts of composition, part 1 WEEK THREE: Rules and concepts of composition, part 2 WEEK FOUR: Rules and concepts of composition, part 3 This class covers the artistic side of photography and does NOT cover the technical aspects of using your camera. Assignments can be done using your camera’s Auto Mode or your phone if necessary, but this class is also an excellent followup for students who have already taken an introductory DSLR class. Please see my other listings if you are interested in a more technical class where you learn how to use your camera.

Any camera (including your phone!) can be used to take the photos for this class. If you've previously taken a DSLR photography class, the exercises in this class would be a great opportunity for you to practice the skills you learned in that class.

As part of the class I also share links to curated collections of photos on the site 500px.com. These are collections I've created of photos by a variety of photographers to show additional examples of each of the compositional techniques.
教師專業知識和證書
I've been a professional photographer since 2001 and have a wide range of photography experience, including many years photographing babies and children. I've been teaching photography for over ten years to professional photographers, enthusiasts and teens through group workshops, private lessons and online classes. Currently, my favorite things to photograph are dogs, flowers, insects and food. I'd love to hear what you like to photograph!
I'm recognized as a Master Photographer by the Professional Photographers of America and was also awarded the organization's Photographic Craftsman degree in recognition of my work teaching other professional photographers.
