In this one time voice lesson, students will be introduced to solfege (solfa) and will begin with syllables "sol, mi, and la" They will then learn the hand signs for these notes. They will sing "call and response" phrases and then apply their knowledge of these three notes to "Rain, Rain, Go Away." Students can demonstrate knowledge of hand signs and staff placement (key of F) for "sol, mi, and la" Students be able to describe "beat" and "tempo." Students will be able to sing "Chicka Hanka."
