We've almost all heard the saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." But we know how hurtful words can be. In this one-time class, students will learn how mean words can affect and hurt us on the inside. We will learn that it's important to show kindness at home with our families, at school, and everywhere we go! I will do a hands-on activity that shows the effects of hurtful words. Students will learn the importance of showing kindness to others. Then they will be able to complete a kindness calendar (provided by teacher) at home after class.
I have many years of classroom teaching experience. I strongly believe in creating an environment that promotes kindness and I strive to do that both in my classroom and at home with my own children.
