課堂經歷
The learner will bring craft sticks (or q-tips) and coins to their workspace. After a brief introduction, the teacher will reach into a jar and pull out a brightly colored ping pong ball that is labeled with a sight word. -Students will practice reading 3-8 sight words (also known as high-frequency words). -Students will build and spell sight words in their workspace using craft sticks and coins. -Students will interact with the teacher and other learners in a fun and lively discussion...
Many sight words do not follow basic phonics principles so they are not easy to decode or sound out. It is my goal to help your young learner increase their sight word bank so they will have increased reading fluency and comprehension.
The teacher was a kindergarten and first-grade teacher for over twenty years in public elementary schools. Both of her boys knew how to read before they entered kindergarten partially because she found opportunities to teach using everyday objects like “sticks and nickels”.
