This is the second part of the Kindergarten Math Strategy Course, however students can take this class in any order they wish, or even at the same time! =)

In this five week flex course, students will be introduced to strategies that will aid in their ability to solve subtraction equations, all while working at their own pace.  This class is a flex class, and will not meet live.   I (the teacher) will upload weekly videos explaining the topic of the week, as modeling each math strategy to use when adding.  I will then provide a weekly assignment for students to complete and upload to the classroom!  I will also use visuals in my lessons to help accommodate students who may need it.

                                                                      Week 2: Using manipulatives and fingers to count
                                                                                     Week 3: Using a ten frame
                                                                                     Week 4: Drawing pictures
                                                                                    Week 5: Using a number line

Students will be able to communicate through discussions, and will be expected to upload their complete assignments weekly.  Students will use these uploaded assignments in their discussions. 

I'll open a weekly discussion forum for students to share their successes, ask questions, and expect interactions between each other in the process. Students are required to engage in discussion not only with the teacher but with each other as well.  Students can post comments to the teacher and/or peers as well as upload a video implementing the weekly strategy while solving the weekly addition assignment.
