課堂經歷
In this six-week course, students will be introduced to basic karate moves (punches, blocks, kicks, falls) and will also practice body awareness and balance. This course is meant to introduce young learners to the martial arts in a fun and engaging way, as well as give them some space to get the wiggles out. The pace of the class is quick and energetic, and students are encouraged to keep trying and improving their new skills. Week One: Kicks and Punches -We will work front kick and crescent kick (rainbow kick), as well as introduce horse stance and center punches. Students will be introduced to Korean terminology for numbers 1-5. Week Two: Rolls and Falls -We will review kicks and punches in the first part of class, and introduce rolls (rolling from seated to on the back) and seated back falls (where we slap the ground to help disperse energy). Students will review numbers week one material. Week Three: Blocks and Memory -We will work on our upper and middle blocks, and students will practice counting by themselves if they would like to. Week Four: Kicks and Punches -We will practice multiple or slow motion kicks in addition to our regular practice and add numbers 6-8 to our terminology. Week Five: Rolls and Falls -We will review rolls and seated back falls and begin standing back falls. We will review kicks, blocks, punches, and counting up to 10. Week Six: Blocks and Memory -We will review everything we have learned. This is a general guide, but most classes will incorporate all elements and move at a pace consistent with what the students are able to accomplish in a given meeting.

父母的引導和規範
While karate can be a violent sport and injuries can occur, there will be very little risk of that in this class. The focus of the class is on physical skills and body movement. Having a parent helper can also ensure that your learner doesn't fling themselves into anything dangerous (such as walls or lamps). But for the most part, we will do all of our kicking and punching and falling in one spot, so that I can better see all the learners and assist those who need help.
