Investigating Algebra Two (Part 1 of 5) In this part of Investigating Algebra two we will be focusing on furthering our knowledge of functions and systems of equations and inequalities. We will learn these skills with a combination of lecture, working on practice problems, inquire questions, and investigations. Core objectives: State the domain and range of a relation and tell whether it is a function. Write a function in function notation and evaluate it. Perform operations with functions to write new functions. Find the composition of two functions. Find the inverse of a relation or function. Determine whether the inverse of a function is a function. Write graph and apply special functions: piecewise, step, and absolute value. Solve a system of linear equations in two variables by graphing Solve a system of linear equations by substitution. Solve a system of two linear equations in two variables by elimination. Solve a system of two linear equations in three variables Solve a system of three linear equations in two or three variables. Solve and graph a linear inequality in two variables. Use a linear inequality in two variables to solve real-world problems. Write and graph a system of linear inequalities in two variables Write a system of linear inequalities in two variables for a given solution region. Bonus objective (time permitting we will cover these objectives) Write and graph a set of constraints for a linear-programming problem. Use linear programming to find the maximum or minimum value of an objective function. Graph a pair of parametric equations and use them to model real-world applications. Grading: During this class 2 quizzes and a project will be assigned. If sent to teacher, they will be graded. At the end of class all students will receive a certificate of completion.
