課堂經歷
Learn the basics of video by learning shot composition, lighting, and sound. I will teach with slides and videos that give good and bad examples. I believe bad examples help you see why we do things the way we do, even better than the good examples. In between each meeting, the learners can take their own video examples. On days two and three we will spend time in class looking at their example videos and I will give constructive feedback in an encouraging way. My hope is that students will encourage and learn from each other too. Day 1: Shot composition: Learn the rule of thirds. How do you frame shots? How much headroom and look space do you give your subject? What to do and what not to do? Day 2: Lighting: The basics of 3-point lighting and audio: make your subjects look good and sound good.

I have worked in video production for over ten years. I have worked as a videographer for companies such as C-SPAN, and The Great Courses (now called Wondrium). I still freelance for Wondrium when I am not teaching for Outschool. I have also worked at a local news station and cable access station in my early days. I taught video classes at the cable station.
