This one-time, group trombone class will support the trombone performer who just got their instrument and is excited for the first day of band. Together, we will: 1. Discuss the case features and how it works 2. Unpack the trombone 3. Identify the parts of the horn and practice taking each one out 4. Learn to handle and assemble the instrument 5. Posture and playing position 6. General maintenance and care (spit valve, slide oil, mouthpiece) 7. Breathing and buzzing 8. Attempting your first...
- By the end of this class, students will be able to: - have a process to set up their instrument - have a process set up personal space and posture - describe the basic needs to produce a sound - take the steps to produce a sound - describe basic care and maintenance needs - store and transport the instrument properly
