課堂經歷
This course will be a deep dive into the classic fairytale as well as less familiar stories from around the world. This class will be structured around one fairytale each week. There will be open discussion as well as a time for critical analysis of the origins, culture and significance of the story. We will focus on honing the ability to view literature as an art form and for the children to be able to begin to dissect not only the story they are presented with, but to look for the deeper meaning behind the written word. There is no reading experience necessary as the teacher will be reading aloud and facilitating discussions. Week of August 20th- The Frog King by The Brothers Grimm Week of August 27th- The Emperors New Clothes by Hans Christian Anderson Week of September 3rd- Sleeping Beauty by The Brothers Grimm Week of September 10th- The Princess and the Pea by Hans Christian Anderson

In this course students will learn how to view classic fairytales with a critical eye. We will focus on story structure, story patterns and learning how to observe the meaning woven into the heart of the stories.

The stories included will be screened for age appropriate material and subject matter. Some of the classic fairytales do include mentions of death and minimal mentions of soldiers and war.

I am an early childhood educator and have been working in the field for over seven years. I have a great passion for working with children and helping them to discover and expand their curiosities and interests. I believe that you are never too young, or old for that matter, to discover a passion for learning!
I am excited to share my love for literature and the written word with students, through discussion we will discover the wonders of literary work throughout the ages!
I am also excited to offer circle times for younger students that will involve interactive songs, games and lots of fun!
