We will start out the class doing a dance to get their brain and body warmed up. Then, we will do an improv acting game. Then, they will do an exercise to generate story ideas or an aspect we will focus on in the class, such as characters, settings and/or problems. Then, the students and I will create a story together. We will add in movement to have a highly engaged class. The first step in writing stories is to tell it orally. This class is a building block for students to be able to write...
Students will learn the elements of a story (characters, setting, plot, problem and solution/resolution). They will also be working on their coordination when doing the movement activities. This class will also help them to work collaboratively by sharing their ideas as a group.
