Learn how to create a cherry blossom tree and haiku. Students will learn how to use an ink blowing technique to create a cherry blossom branch. What is Ink Blowing? It’s a Chinese way to paint. Simply put some black ink/paint on the paper and start to blow (using a straw is much easier).Then students will draw and color flowers to company the branch. Topping it off by writing a Haiku relating to their cherry blossom tree art. A Haiku is a three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count, inspired by nature.

-Student will demonstrate and understand of ink blowing technique
-Students will recognize the a cherry blossom tree
-Students will learn how to create a Haiku

2 Average White paper (40lbs to 70lbs weight and 8.5” x 11”size) Pencil Sharpie or black marker Black ink or Black Acrylic paint Straw (optional but makes better art piece) Colors (watercolors, crayons, markers or colored pencils) *the supplies you have at home
