These one on one sessions will be customized for the individual student. The learners previous experience, or lack of will guide me in establishing a graduated step lesson plan which will guarantee success. Every new lesson we will start with a short review of the last lesson to guarantee a stable and reliable learning foundation. Students will be taught the basics of their instrument, along with specific instruction in favored styles.
I bring my experience as a road musician, combined with my academic training as a graduate of UCLA ethnomusicology program to the lessons. I have been teaching these instruments privately, in recreation programs, and public and private schools for the last 20 years. I have a current California substitute teaching credential.
I will supply all handouts necessary for these lessons.
