Students will engage in various hands on activities that build upon their reading and writing skills. This class will focus on building upon current skills. Students will build upon their reading skills and build confidence in their reading ability. Students will improve their overall understanding of the writing process, grammar, and letter formation. They will learn and practice how to transfer their ideas into written format. Students will build upon basic math skills and be able to demonstrate understanding of the foundational math concepts.
Maria Ramirez is a Massachusetts licensed Elementary Teacher who has been teaching children for over a decade in public, private and charter schools including after school and summer programs. The majority of her teaching has taken place in first and second grade classrooms. She guides children's natural curiosities to explore, investigate, create, problem solve, collaborate, and take risks in a safe and encouraging environment.

Students need paper, pencil, white board, dry erase markers (if possible) and coloring materials for each class. There may be other various materials needed for classes that will be posted to the classroom page prior to class.
