The main goal of this class is to get kids excited about celebrating festivals, learning about cultural traditions through movement. We will learn active dance moves to upbeat Bollywood music along with understanding the significance of the festival of Janmashtami - which celebrates Krishna's Birthday (Aug 18, 2022).
The class also aims at achieving basic coordination, rhythm, and memory. Younger kids will be able to perform the dance with help, older kids should be able to dance by themselves!

I'm a passionate & enthusiastic educator with ~ 10 years of experience teaching kids from ages 3 and up! I am the Founder of Dance with Miss Priya and my mission is to spread the joy of Indian Dance and Culture that I grew up with. I help children be creative, confident and connect with culture through the power of movement in a vibrant and encouraging environment. I am trained in an Indian classical dance form "Bharatanatyam" and I'm excited to bring my authentic knowledge on the various genres of Bollywood Dance to learners on Outschool! 

I was born & raised in a small town in Rajasthan, India and started dancing when I was 3! I currently live in Chicago, United States. I am fluent in English, Hindi, and Tamil. My past professional experience includes running a dance + culture kids program in after-school programs + dance studios, performing & Interacting with multicultural audiences all over Chicago.
