We will learn basic ballet technique alongside athletic coordination through imaginative movement and games. We begin class with an imaginative warm up to prepare our bodies and minds for kinesthetic learning. We will learn and practice ballet moves (such as plie, pique, jete, arabesque glissade, etc.) and incorporate those in short, guided choreography to practice sequencing and short-term memorization. We will cool down with an imaginative dance game and a spotlight moment to give...
Students will learn kinesthetically through ballet, imaginative movement and games how to incorporate creative ideas with physical execution. They will also learn coordination, sequencing and choreography skills.
Ms. Caitlin is a professional ballerina with over 20 years experience. She has danced with American Ballet Theatre and Central Pennsylvania Ballet and has taught ballet for over 10 years.
Please bring water, non-slip socks or ballet slippers and comfortable clothes to move in. Please prepare a space for the student to move freely in without risk of injury.
