This course is Part 1 of a three-part course. Each section will run for ten weeks to complete all thirty lessons in the curriculum. Using the short story "The Nose Tree", learners will examine one sentence a day and identify parts of speech by labeling using the IEW method. In addition, simple capitalization and punctuation rules will be introduced and practiced. When learners attend class live, we will review homework and then I will introduce the new concepts they will have to practice...

Week 1Lesson 1Week 1Learners will explore their Student Book and learn about nouns and some simple punctuation.Week 2Lesson 2Week 2Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. We will learn about article adjectives today.Week 3Lesson 3Week 3Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. We will learn about pronouns and capitalization.Week 4Lesson 4Week 4Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. We will hone our skills for nouns, pronouns, and article adjectives.Week 5Lesson 5Week 5Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. We will spend some time on the who/which clause today.Week 6Lesson 6Week 6Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. The homophones there/their/they're will be studied today.Week 7Lesson 7Week 7Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. We will learn about adjectives today and how they can give readers more detail.Week 8Lesson 8Week 8Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. We dive into prepositions today and what makes a prepositional phrase.Week 9Lesson 9Week 9Learners should come to class with completed homework from last week. Subject-verb pairs will be explored today. 頻率: 3-6 per week回饋: As needed細節: Learners are expected to move through the Student Book throughout the week, applying what they learned in the live class. It is the responsibility of the adult at home to make sure homework is being completed. I will not be checking homework.等級
頻率: 7 or more throughout the class細節: Learners will receive feedback on the homework during live instruction. Learners should have homework complete before attending the next class.
This is the first book in the IEW Fix-It! Grammar series. No previous experience required.

The adult at home will be responsible for facilitating the program throughout the week. You should purchase the Student Book and Teacher Manual. Once we review the new concept in our live class, you will need to follow that instruction to complete the remainder of the lessons for the week. Learners should attend class the next week with homework completed and any questions. Quizlet will be used for the vocabulary words being learned. Optional quizzes will be provided. I will not be tracking grades for those, but am more than willing to hear how your learner does on them!
