Do you love animals?  Do you have a pet?  If so, this class is JUST FOR YOU!  In this class, students will develop communication and language skills by sharing about their pet.  Ms. Amanda will model how to share about pets by showing you one of her pets.  Will you meet one of her puppies, "Butcher or Tom?"  Or maybe her three-legged cat "Tuff Buff?"  Maybe her super shy cat "Little Bit" will make a visit!  We will discuss your pet's name, age, where you got them, what you do together, how you take care of them, and/or any other questions that come up in discussion. Students can show us their actual animal or a picture (real or drawn).  

This class is meant to engage young learners in a high-interest topic--pets!  Kids LOVE to show-and-tell.  We will practice important social skills like taking turns and listening to our classmates.  When the class starts, we will make a list in order of who will share, so you will know when to start getting your pet ready for the camera.  (Ms. Amanda will always go first.)  When it is your turn to share, please be prepared to tell us your pet's name and anything else you'd like to tell us!  Then, we will ask a few questions.  We will want to make sure EACH student has a special time to share, so a timer will be used as a "gentle reminder" to allow all participants time to speak.  Students will not be pressured to share anything they don't want to share.  We will encourage anyone to speak at their own comfort level!  If we have extra time at the end of class, we will have open sharing time.
