課堂經歷
This is a Life Skills Class about gratitude. We will discuss gratitude and what it means to us, define it, and distinguish it from obligation. We will speak about gift giving and receiving, and students will need to be prepared to share the good, the bad, and the ugly of it. The class is discussion based and is a one-time class. I teach in a laid back fashion giving the students some control of where the conversations lead just enough that they are interested and then I will steer it in the direction it needs to go to cover the material and delve deep into respect, honoring others, and self reflection. Learners will be asked to be respectful of others in the group and raise their hand before answering. We will utilize Jack, the AI host to define several terms. Students are expected to participate verbally. The class is 40 minutes of introduction, discussion, and then goodbyes at the end of class.

Redirection is utilized to maintain control of the classroom as well as to assist the students who have difficulty paying attention. If there are other accommodations in order for your learner to participate, please message me.

I have a bachelors of Biology from Catawba College, but after my career in science, I changed to a career working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I am a Qualified IDD Professional and Innovations Care Manager in the state of NC. I have formally taught Life Skills at a Cardinal Innovations Community Center which was geared towards special needs adults with complex social problems and emotional dysregulation and was open to the general public as well.評論
