Students will read the first novel in the Hunger Games trilogy. 
Each week, students will be provided with a note-catcher to keep track of important information during their reading.
Discussions will be guided by areas of student interest, as well as a specific focus on character development and motivations. 
Optional writing tasks will be provided for students who wish to complete them independently. 

Week 1:
Students will meet each other, review expectations for the class, and discuss background information related to the novel.
*Students will read Hunger Games, Part 1 (the first third of the novel) before Week 2

Week 2:
Students will play a trivia game to review important information and events from the assigned reading.
Students will discuss Hunger Games, Part 1.
*Students will read Hunger Games, Part 2 (the second third of the novel) before Week 3

Week 3:
Students will play a trivia game to review important information and events from the assigned reading.
Students will discuss Hunger Games, Part 2.
*Students will read Hunger Games, Part 3 (the final third of the novel) before Week 4

Week 4:
Students will play a trivia game to review important information and events from the assigned reading.
Students will discuss Hunger Games, Part 3.
