課堂經歷
This course covers human environmental impact. Students can expect to receive a short video lesson (approximately 3-8 minutes each) and loads of hands-on opportunities throughout the duration of the course. Students receive instruction for optional lab experiments, links to interactives, research prompts, project ideas, and participate in engineering challenges. I believe learning is more than just a lecture and this class is a great demonstration of that! Weekly topics are as follows: week 1: scientific and engineering vocabulary week 2: renewable vs. nonrenewable resources week 3: plastic pollution week 4: biomagnification week 5: climate change week 6: farming impact week 7: eutrophication week 8: ocean acidification week 9: loss of biodiversity week 10: Kigali Ammendment & legislative efforts week 11: technology week 12: individual impact Video and informational posts will be added to the classroom Sunday of each week. Students with a genuine interest in environmental science can expect to learn high level curriculum concepts in a fun and engaging way. They will be encouraged to integrate what they have learned into their life, share their ideas with their community (friends, family, organizations, etc.) and create their own original concepts.
學習目標
Students will gain an understanding of fundamental human impact concepts and learn to apply knowledge to determine solutions to problems, and how they can make a difference in their own lives.

My teaching experience in the life sciences includes ecology, and biology. Before I became a teacher I worked with wildlife, in a microbiology lab, and also in animal welfare. I have always been called to work with children and have volunteered at girl scout camps, zoo camps and children's hospitals. As a teacher on Outschool, I am committed to bringing visual and tangible content to the classroom. I believe teaching is more than just a lecture. My students learn best by seeing examples of concepts, and by breaking new content down into manageable pieces. I am always available for questions and support (USA Eastern Time, UTC 5:00)
