課堂經歷
Science, anatomy, and psychology don't have to be overly complicated subjects! I break down big terms and concepts into bite-sized pieces of information so students can better understand the material. I created this class to be a unique twist on human anatomy. Not just naming the parts of the body, but learning how they all connect and work together to make us... us! My hope is students leave class with a deeper understanding of the human body and an appreciation for just how cool it...
8 lessons//8 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Brain anatomyFrontal lobe, limbic system, amygdala, and brain stem.Week 2Lesson 2Brain anatomyCerebellum, cerebral cortex, temporal lobe, cranial nerves, and the corpus callosum (the band of fibers that holds the two halves of the brain together.)Week 3Lesson 3Brain anatomyHuman brain dissection week! AND brain bingo! (Brain dissection video)Week 4Lesson 4Nervous systemSpinal cord, sensory organs, and nerves. (Watching proteins drag dopamine around the brain video!)Week 5Lesson 5Nervous systemWhat is the parasympathetic system and how do all these pieces connect?Week 6Lesson 6PsychologyAnxiety symptoms, which parts of the brain are responsible, and suggested coping mechanisms.Week 7Lesson 7PsychologyADHD (executive function) symptoms and managing strategies. -This one is super helpful for getting organized and reducing stress as well!(Watching a brain rewire itself video!)Week 8Lesson 8Review weekReview game day :) This week we review a little bit of everything we've learned in class so far!

I am finishing up my own child psychology degree. I currently only have 7 months left til graduation day! I am certified in ADHD and ASD management strategies. I have been tutoring for over 3 years and have homeschooled my own kiddo from kindergarten into high school (and we're still going!)
