This one time class is designed for students who already have the basics of crochet down. The student should already know the slip knot, chain, single crochet, and double crochet before taking this class. We will combine these stitches to create the granny stitch! This stitch can be used to make potholders, scarves, and blankets!! It is a versatile stitch that works up quickly. It's great to use when you need a project done fast! The students should be able to complete the granny stitch by the end of the class. This stitch is so versatile and can be used for so many projects!
About The Teacher: I learned to crochet in my middle school home economics class and I've been "hooked" ever since. *pun intended* :D I just did the math and that means that I have been crocheting for 20 years now. Wow! Crochet is a wonderful hobby to make something creative but also useful. I have made many items such as washcloths, shawls, scarves, stuffed toys, and blankets. Over the years, I have learned that blankets are my absolute favorite item to make. There is a crocheted blanket on every bed in my home...and on every sofa...and some are stored... I am the type of person that can not just sit and not have my hands be busy. Crochet is the perfect hobby to do while watching your favorite show for the 346th time. My hope for this class is to spark that love of crochet for every student that comes into the classroom. I hope to see you soon!
