Join us for an honors Grade 3-4 mathematics class. This class is for students who are advanced and gifted in mathematics, ready to enrich their reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. It is best if students are familiar and proficient in skip counting (6+6+6+6), the multiplication times table, and multiplying numbers by 10, 100, and 1000. We'll use Beast Academy Online (level 3B and 3C) and other resources to learn about multiplication, perfect squares, division, algebraic...
Students will learn: - Perfect Squares - Square Numbers, Perimeter & Area, and Word Problems - Multiplication - Distributive Property, Order of Operations, and Distributing & Factoring - Algebraic Thinking - Variables, Evaluating and Simplifying Expressions, and Word Problems - Creative Problem Solving Thinking
I am a certified PK-6 Virginia teacher with additional certifications and specialization in Gifted and Talented Advanced Academics and the inquiry-based International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). I have over 15 years of experience teaching for schools, homeschool groups, and families around the world. I believe all children have an inherent love for learning, and, because I love math and believe math literacy is an essential skill that all children can learn to the highest levels, I have specialized in math and STEAM-related education.
