Monthly Holiday Story Schedule: October: The Berenstain Bears Trick or Treat (Students are welcome to wear costumes) November: The Berenstain Bears and the Prize Pumpkin December: The Berenstain Bears Night Before Christmas February: The Berenstain Bears Valentines Party March: The Berenstain Bears St. Patrick's Day --------------------------------- Storytime is important for brain development, even before they can talk, children need to hear language to support brain development. When you read with children, they are connecting the words you say to the pictures on the page and to the things in their world. All of those connections are growing brain connections! This Story Time will Provide: * Exposure to a rich variety of age-appropriate words. * Learning the parts of a story (beginning, middle, & end) * Learning parts of speech. (example: pointing out an adjective/noun within the story) * An opportunity for back-and-forth (language/discussion) skills. * Developing listening and speaking skills * Healthy Brain Development * (Most Importantly) Gain a lifelong love of reading. After listening to the story, we will discuss the characters, feelings, places, things, and events in the book and compare them to their own life experiences (if they choose). I will also send home an optional follow-up sheet, the child can use this to remember our story, the things we learned, and practice their coloring, and writing skills. This is an enjoyable, relaxing, reading time for your child. Your child can bring a blanket, pillow, favorite cuddly stuffed animal, and join me, while I read them a Bernstein Bear Story Book. These were my favorite books as a child, and I have passed that love on to my own children. And I am excited about the opportunity to pass that love on to your child. These are sweet wholesome books usually with a great life lesson to be learned. Have you ever heard of these stories? No... Here is a quick synopsis: The Berenstain Bears is a children's literature series created by Stan and Jan Berenstain and continued by their son, Mike Berenstain. The books feature a family of humanlike grizzly bears who generally learn a moral or safety-related lesson in the course of each story. The main characters are the parents, Mama and Papa, and three children, Brother, Sister, and Honey. Stories about the bears generally follow a basic formula, so described by the Berenstains: "Papa sets out to instruct Small Bear in some aspect of the art of living and ends up badly the worse for wear, with Small Bear expressing his appreciation for the fine lesson Papa has taught him."

ECE is a critical phase in child development, and research indicates that children engaged in ECE programs tend to perform better academically. Beyond academic achievements, one of the most significant advantages of early childhood education is instilling a love for learning. These formative experiences inspire children to seek knowledge and cultivate a lifelong passion for learning.
An integral aspect of teaching involves understanding both the student and their family. Feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas that can aid in your child's educational journey.
I am genuinely thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of your student.
