歷史偵探俱樂部：在學習歷史的同時練習英語！ (6-8歲)

Would you like to go to space? Have you ever heard of Mary Anning, brave fossil hunter? Do you know how Florence Nightingale changed the world? All of these questions, and lots more, will be explored in this new ongoing series of 'History Detectives!' classes. 

The class will give learners the opportunity to further develop their English reading skills. There may also be some writing. This is not a class for beginning readers. This is a class for students who can already read and write relatively independently - this class will build on those skills! (If you're not sure if this class is suitable for your learner - please get in touch! I also run a similar class for 9-11 year olds.)

Lessons are presented on powerpoint slides. The lessons are fun and interactive, with short bursts of activities to keep students engaged.

Each week we look at a different topic (the classes do not build on each other). So learners can enrol at any time.

Week beginning 30th Jan - Elizabeth I: a lion and a queen
Week beginning 21st Feb - First Men on the Moon
Week beginning 28th Feb - Yuck! The history of the humble toilet!
Week beginning  6th March - The Great Fire of London
Week beginning 13th March - Christmas time! A history of Victorian Christmas traditions (with games!)
Week beginning 20th March - The Titanic 
Week beginning 27th March -  Queen Elizabeth II: A life
