After years of studying and teaching English Language Arts, I have developed a specialized curriculum to help older students acquire the foundational skills they need to become good writers. Students will develop an advanced understanding of the fundamentals of English grammar. Students will learn parts of speech, sentence formation, punctuation, and common word usage.
My name is Christina Broadway, and I have taught all levels of high school English over the past decade. I have extensive specialized training in Curriculum and Instruction. I have written the English curriculum for three public high schools and one private school. My students consistently perform above the 90th percentile on state and national standardized tests.
Each week, you will receive access to an instructional video and a digital, interactive copy of your notes and practice exercises.This class is designed to be done digitally; however, if you prefer, you may print out the lessons and complete them on a hard copy. If you choose to complete the lessons by hand and you'd like to receive a grade in this class, please scan a picture or photocopy of your completed work and turn it in.
This course will use Quizlet and Socrative.com for study cards and games. The class will use Flipgrid for any video or project submissions.
