In this course, it is my hope that your child will discover how to read and to write the letters of the Hebrew language.

No prior Hebrew experience is required. Ability to write and read in English is preferred. 

In each session, we will learn up to 10 letters.
We will learn to read, write, and identify the sound(s) each letter makes.

There will be minimal homework, simply practicing the letters we learned in class. Please see attached files.

In session 1, we will have an introduction to Hebrew and the beginning letters
In session 2, we will learn several new letters and discuss final forms.
In session 3, we will finish the Alef Bet (alphabet), and learn our names and simple words.

By the end of the course, students will be able to identify letters, letter sounds and a dozen simple words.

Your child can learn to write their name in Hebrew, or choose a Hebrew name if their real name is too long or difficult for them to pronounce.

We will not be learning to read Hebrew and translate. We will be learning a printing script similar to book font, not modern cursive.
