Students will learn and understand important grammar skills, vocabulary words, and literary devices. They will also be able to comprehend, discuss, analyze, and write about the book they read.
I have been a certified English teacher and tutor for over 13 years. I have read and discussed this novel with my middle school students and my own sons. This novel is a high-interest novel that inspires great discussions among middle schoolers.

Students will need to purchase their own copy of Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. Students will also need paper, a pencil, and highlighters to use in class. I will supply some printable sheets for students to use in class and during independent reading.
