This is a session self paced class that will cover the the names of the characters in Harry Potter. We will be going out of order of character appearance in the book so it is best that the student has read the book first. There will be videos, worksheets with readings, exercises, and quizzes. Additionally, there will be some weeks in which essays will be required on character relationships or student reflections. At the end of the session the student will be asked to write as essay on how the words have been used and changed through out time. This will include a list of words that use the word as it's root. This will also include other languages than English if the student knows them. As this is not an English class the essay will be graded based on content and not spelling and grammar. I know many students are not from places that speak English regularly. I also added the my video script so that the hearing impaired can follow along, though without some of my misspeaks and ummms.

I have a degree in History as well as passed my teaching test and am currently working on getting my teaching license in Massachusetts. I use my love of History and facts to help children understand that history is conceived of real people who did real things. I found Social Studies class boring as a child because the teachers concentrated mostly on dates and statistics rather than the humans behind the events. I use pop culture to help kids understand people in history are real people
