Harry Potter can't go back to Hogwarts. Or at least, Dobby the house elf thinks so. Danger awaits Harry at Hogwarts this year. In this class we will read the second book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. If your learner has not read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, scroll down for a link to that class! During class, we will discuss what the students read that week. Students will have the opportunity to share their favorite part and ask any questions...
Students will improve their critical reading skills, specifically focusing on elements of a story, making inferences, genre, figurative language, context clues, comparing and contrasting, and theme.

Students will read 2-3 chapters of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets per week and will complete a short assignment. The reading and assignment should take about 2-2.5 hours per week.2 - 4 每週課外時間

Harry Potter does contain themes of good vs evil and could be scary for more sensitive learners. Students will be provided with links to Google Forms for their homework assignments.
