This course builds upon foundational language abilities. Students should have a grasp of the alphabet, recognize basic sight words, understand letter sounds, and possess beginning phonics skills.

Adult supervision and/or assistance with the use of safety scissors is needed especially when students do not have previous experience using scissors. Play-doh may contain wheat, which could cause and allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac Disease.
