Hand-sewing is a skill that everyone needs in life! In this one-time class, students will learn basics of hand-sewing. They will learn how to thread a needle, how to use a thimble, how to sew on a button, and how to hem. Students will learn the following stitches: running stitch, whip stitch, and back stitch. This class will be a workshop where learners will see a demonstration of stitches and then will practice the stitches. Mrs. Borton is a relaxed and patient instructor who will...
Students will learn to use a needle and thread to do basic stitches by hand.
Mrs. Borton has been sewing since she was nine years old! She has sewn clothing, costumes, quilts, and household goods. Mrs. Borton has taught sewing and quilting at local fabric stores.
Students will need the following supplies: 1. needle and thread 2. small pieces of fabric, preferably in solid colors 3. basic sewing supplies like a thimble, scissors, and pins 4. Buttons - two or three buttons
