*Please read entire class description before enrolling. This is a one-time class, but students are welcome to enroll in as many sections of the Halloween Zumba Dance Party as they'd like.* Boo! Welcome to our Halloween Zumba Dance Party! Students are welcome to wear appropriate costumes (they must be able to breathe dance, jump, and move freely) or just come in comfy workout clothes. We will engage in a full Zumba Kids class and play a game all with fun Halloween music! Our Halloween Zumba Dance Party is inclusive of new and experienced dancers alike with options for modifications to simplify or advance each step. My previous classes have included trained dancers, students with disabilities, and everyone in-between. This fitness class is great for students with extra energy before or after school, homeschool students who need a physical outlet or a PE class, students working on their gross-motor skills, and students who love to dance and move! Class format: -A "question of the day": Would you rather dress up as something silly or something scary for Halloween? (Students who need are welcome to answer via typing in the chat, having an adult speak for them, or to simply wave hello) -A warm-up dance to Kidz Bop's "Monster Mash" -A break-down and "performance" of a dance to Kidz Bop's "Ghost Busters" -Halloween-themed Freeze Dance -Cool-down: slow movements and stretches with a spooky Halloween theme -A "Closing Question": "What was your favorite part of today's class?" *Note: There will be a short break (1-2 minutes) between each activity for water/discussion. Classroom Page: I reccomend looking at the post on the classroom page 5-10 minutes before the start of class. There they will see the "question of the day" and your child can prepare their answer before joining to relieve any anxiety. Take a peek at the classroom page a few minutes after class, as well. *For the best experience, be sure the student is on-camera from head-to-toes*

In our Halloween Zumba Kids Dance Party students will:
-Share their answer to a Halloween-themed opinion question
-Learn and practice some basic dance/fitness steps and moves
-Follow simple directions, get their hearts pumping, and have FUN during Halloween Freeze Dance
-Learn about and practice cooling down their bodies after an awesome exercise experience
-Reflect on their class by each sharing their favorite part of our Halloween Zumba Kids Dance Party!

This Zumba class will have PG-rated Halloween themes in the song lyrics including references to ghosts, monsters, witches, etc. There will be no violent themes.
Any face coverings should be removed for identification during the first four minutes of class to meet safety and privacy policies. Please note that costumes will be vetted by the educator to ensure that they met Outschool standards (secular, age-appropriate, etc.). Thank you!
This inclusive class is great for students who are neurotypical, neurodiverse, have Autism, ADHD, speech impairments, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and many other disability classifications.
As this is a fitness class, students with asthma or other issues that are exercise-induced should have an adult nearby for support, as needed.

Our Halloween Zumba Party requires:
-Safe footwear to dance, jump, and move in
-A glass of water or water bottle within reach
-Optional: Fun Halloween costumes can be worn to class (please no masks over the face or violent themes, including fake blood). Examples of appropriate costumes: animal costume, witch or wizard costume, etc. Be sure that the student can dance and move in the costume before joining class (hats, fake glasses, and costume jewelry may fall off or be distracting to them during class)

Hello! I am a New York State Certified Early Childhood and Special Education teacher in my 7th year of teaching. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education and a master's degree in Education Policy. My style of teaching involves differentiating learning content for each child to give everyone an experience that is beneficial to them as individuals. I love singing, dancing, and building community in my classes. I can't wait to meet some new friends!
I teach classes for young children of diverse backgrounds and ability levels. For example, my typical class might have students who are gifted & talented, students who are neurodiverse, students who are neurotypical, and students for whom English is a second language.
Some of my favorite classes to teach include themed parties for Halloween and winter holidays, ballet classes, and Zumba dance classes. I love a good dance party!
Outside of Outschool I enjoy ballet, Zumba, singing, musical theatre, and raising foster kittens!評論
