Students get to use the excitement of FALL and HALLOWEEN to practice their writing!. I will use the various teaching strategies that I have developed over the seventeen years of teaching guided writing. Here is an overview of each lesson as well as what genre will be taught each day. LESSON FORMAT -introduce and define the components of the focus genre for the class (informative, persuasive, opinion, narrative) -discuss fun topic possibilities they might want to write about for the day. -I...
-Students will know the criteria for each genre -Students will see how author's use exemplary writing to write each genre -Students will become familiar with the structure of each genre based on guided writing and organizers -Students will construct their own writing plan for each genre using organizers
-17 years of certified teaching guided writing lessons in grades 2-6th grade
*Printed copy of the organizer that I will post into the classroom prior to class. Students will use this to complete their own writing plan. *pencil :o)
