Who else is a fan of the Avengers in the Marvel movies. Do you wonder how much of what we see and hear is real science and how much is science-fiction? We'll compare current science facts with movie superhero magic. Join me in discussing and analyzing the validity of the science in the Marvel movies: Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers, Avengers-End Game, Avengers-Infinity Black Panther, Endgame, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, and Spiderman 2. I will use a visual slide presentation and lecture to compare modern scientific understanding to the science we see in the Marvel movies. Learner questions and discussions will lead each lesson, so the more learner participation, the more we all enjoy the class. Short video clips are used to explain certain science concepts in this class. Lesson 1: Metals & Alloys-shield, hammer, and suits Lesson 2: Physics-movement and force Lesson 3:Matter-holograms, spidey strength, and vibranium Lesson 4: Energy, Space, & Time It is unnecessary to have watched all of the Marvel movies to participate in this class.

Marvel movies are science-fiction action movies based on good versus bad characters. There is violence and death in these movies and they are rated PG-13.
Short clips from YouTube are used in class to help showcase and explain specific science concepts from the movies and scientists.
If time allows learners will engage in a teacher-created Blooket game for review at the end of each lesson. The quiz will be posted in the classroom if time does not allow. Blooket provides a unique and private link for each class game. There is no learner registration required to play the game.
