A persistent grammar puzzle for writers of all ages is when to use “who” and “whom.” What’s the difference? Does it really matter? Misuses of “whom” are everywhere because of this confusion, and they make their writers sound silly. In this class, we’ll take a look at how these pronouns work (including their relationship to pronouns like “he” and “him”), then practice filling in the blank in several sentences, figuring out which pronoun is better. I have a Masters in English from Texas A&M University, where I worked for 3 semesters as a graduate assistant teacher. I also have years of experience working with children from freelance tutoring elementary through college students and from volunteering with Girl Scouts and church.
I will share my screen in the Zoom meeting to show the PowerPoint slides I will use throughout class. The game at the end is on the same PowerPoint as the explanatory material.
