Most highly intelligent students love to experience a wide variety of science at an early age. This gifted science course will provide mini lessons so gifted students can experience Forensics, Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, Anatomy and Environmental Science. Goals for science units include the following process and concept goals in addition to essential understandings of specific content areas: 1) To understand the concept of systems or change 2) To understand and apply the basic principles of experimental design and investigation, and 3) To develop reasoning skills with real-world applications to science This unit gives students a chance to sample all the main science topic areas.
Mrs. Collins is a certified teacher in science, and gifted in-field studies. She also has over 23 years of experience.

Parents, students will be using Flipgrid and Loom during this course. Loom is where I store my video recordings, so students will be given a personalized safe link. Flipgrid is what the class uses to share or show/tell projects. Students will be given a personal private link to the teacher's Flipgrid website to show labs (optional). Parents, I teach for the public school system and teach on Outschool. I make sure that my classes have labels on all of the task, example: Week 1, Task 1 Week 1, Task 2 they are clearly labeled to help students not get lost and to know what order to complete the task. Students will be given a new topic each week, labs to try at home, and summary videos to watch to learn more.
