Welcome to Get Ready for Kindergarten Summer Boot Camp! Each summer camp session will begin with calendar skills. Via TPR method of teaching we will learn and reinforce days of the week and months of the year. Our math skill of counting 0-20 will be reinforced via calendar work as well. Literacy skills will also be a focus of this class and include letter recognition and sounds, letter print concepts, and phonics skills. Student engagement and interaction are what I look forward to most! Everyone can learn from one another via open conversation. Please note my goal is to keep everyone off mute the entire class and I will do so as long as there isn't a lot of background noise, out of respect to all of our learners. Class Schedule: Week 1: begins June 3 - numbers 0-5 and straight lower case letters Week 2: begins June 10 - numbers 6-10 and curved lower case letters Week 3: begins June 17 - numbers 11-14 and AB patterns Week 4: begins June 24 - counting by tens and curved lowercase letters Week 5: begins July 1 - numbers 15-18 and straight and curbed letters Week 6: begins July 8 - numbers 19-20, greater or fewer and diagonal lower case letters Week 7: begins July 15 - rhyming, diagonal letters and greater or fewer, and addition Week 8: begins July 22 - addition and subtraction, beginning sounds and ending sounds

I'm Ms. Diana and I am excited to be a part of your learning journey!
A little bit about me -- I was a classroom teacher for 10+ years in the elementary setting. I was certified K-12 in Reading and also hold a Bachelors Degree in Spanish Language and Culture. My personal teaching experience included Special Education, English Speakers of Other Languages, Bilingual Education, Extended Foreign Language Classes, as well as all core subjects K-5. I have also tutored at the high school and college levels for the past 15 years.
My motto is connection before correction. What that means to me is that before I can truly reach your learner I know I must provide a safe and inviting environment into which they can bring their smiles and wonderful ideas.
Teaching is my passion and I absolutely adore working with homeschoolers as I am also a homeschooling mama!
In my classroom we learn a lot and have a lot of fun! It is not uncommon for kids to see a new project, new plant, or new pet in my background. We have a lot of fun learning here!評論
