In this self-paced German Immersion class for beginners, we will learn simple sentences and fun activities around the topic "Summer" (Sommer) in German. I will mostly speak German in the videos, but I will speak some English for giving instructions and feedback. This German for Beginners Kindergarten Summer Class is a self-paced class, so there won’t be any LIVE meetings with the teacher. I will be available to answer your questions and give feedback on Fridays. In each lesson, we will cover the four skills - listening, - speaking, - reading, - writing. We will - listen to short audio texts, - build up new vocabulary, - prepare short everyday conversations in German, - practice pronunciation and vocabulary, - explore authentic situations and activities and train natural, spontaneous interaction. In this self-paced class, learners will learn basic German expressions for Summer through play, song, and nursery rhymes. We will cover some of the following topics in the German beginner lessons: Lesson Topics: - Summer Weather - Summer Activities - Travel - Transportation (plane, bus, car, bicycle,...) - Summer in Germany: Places to go, things to do - Summer song (Sum sum sum) - How to order an ice cream in German Share your craft Your child is not required to know any German, this is a beginners' class. I have taught Kindergarten (Maternelle) in Canada, and I homeschooled my own Kindergarten son in German and French. Young learners may need parental help to access the Outschool classroom, the youtube videos or canva videos, or to download the materials.
Learners will make their own videos and drawings to present themselves that need to be uploaded into the classroom. You may also use a computer program such as Word, Google Document, or Canva to make a PDF to upload. This is up to the family's preferences.
Parents should be aware that we will be using youtube/canva videos in this class to watch the tutorial. Learners might also use Kahoot! for an interactive quiz challenge. Instructions will be given in the classroom.
