Get to know this founding father through the stories and events that not only shaped his life, but also the founding of the United States. This course is designed to paint a complete picture of who George Washington was as a person, good and bad and otherwise. From his early career when he accidentally started a war to becoming a celebrated war hero during the American Revolution, this lesson will go beyond dates and names and focus on the all too often untold stories that defined the first U.S. President's legacy. In addition to learning about George Washington, the lesson will also cover the people around him that helped define his life. This includes William Lee, Alexander Hamilton, and Marquis de Lafayette. Parents should be advised that the issue of slavery and Washington's complicated relationship with the topic will be addressed as well. The class will be taught with a mixture of lecture, discussion, videos, and music.

Parents should be advised that the issues of war and slavery will be discussed in an open an honest way in this lesson. It is my upmost priority to present facts in a straightforward and age appropriate manner.

My focus on psychology and experience teaching U.S. history plays an essential role in how this information is presented to ensure accuracy and age appropriateness.
