In this class, students will be taught Geometry. The class will cover several topics including, triangle theorems, quadrilaterals, circles, and probability. The class will be structured so that each topic is a unit of learning. The class will begin with an opening activity, a review of homework questions, then a lecture or skill-building activity, and finally a lesson closer. I will teach using a combination of guided notes and PowerPoint using the zoom/outschool platform. My teaching style is a combination of direct instruction, peer-to-peer interaction, and student discussion. Students will interact with me, the teacher, through the following mediums: lectures, games, slides, video clips, projects, and discussions. Students should have passed Algebra 1 with a grade of A or B before taking this class. Students will be assigned practice problems, worksheets, reflections, or activity links on websites like Quizlet and Quizizz to build math fluency. This class will be in-depth and challenging. It is especially recommended for students who plan to major in stem fields or who will be taking calculus in the next school year. I have taught geometry for the past 5 years and it is definitely one of my most enjoyable classes
