1. Expand learner's knowledge base: By learning about a new topic every week, children can broaden their general knowledge and understanding of the world around them. 2. Improve their critical thinking skills: Learning about new topics requires them to think critically and evaluate new information. This can help them develop their analytical and reasoning skills. 3. Enhance communication skills: Learning about new topics can help them improve their ability to communicate effectively with others. They may be able to engage in more meaningful conversations with people who have different perspectives or backgrounds. 4. Boost creativity: Learning about diverse topics can inspire new ideas and creativity, leading to fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to problems. 5. Staying informed and up-to-date.
I am an experienced classroom primary / elementary school teacher and head of year. I have taught in London, North Africa and the Middle East and am now based in the U.S. With many years of experience and enjoy helping children progress in their academic journey. I pride myself on ensuring that the materials are educational and engaging and that children leave the lesson knowing more than they started. Progressing and moving forward with confidence. I have also completed many training courses to help children become better writers, readers, speakers and mathematicians. I am looking forward to you joining me!

I want to ensure that you are aware of these websites and provide guidance and supervision to your child as they use them. The following websites may be used in our class: PBS Kids and PBS Learning Media - an educational website that offers games, videos, and interactive activities for children to learn about a variety of subjects, including reading, math, science, and social studies. Nat Geo Kids - an educational website that provides children with fun and engaging content about animals, nature, geography, and cultures from around the world. DK find out - an online encyclopedia for children that provides information on a wide range of topics, including science, history, geography, and nature. Let Go Zero - an educational website that aims to inspire children to take action against climate change by providing educational resources and fun activities. World Wildlife Fund - an environmental organization that provides educational resources and information about wildlife conservation and sustainability. Our World In Data - a website that provides data and research on a wide range of global issues, including climate change, health, and poverty. Met Office - the UK's national weather service that provides weather forecasts and climate data. Global Carbon Atlas - a website that provides information on carbon emissions and their impact on the environment. BBC.com - the online portal of the British Broadcasting Corporation that provides news and educational content on a wide range of subjects. NASA Climate Kids - an educational website that provides information on climate change and its impact on the planet, as well as fun games and activities for children. Britannica - online encyclopedia that provides high-quality, information on a wide range of topics. It includes articles, images, videos, and other resources that can be used for research, learning, or general knowledge. Aesop's Fables - This website, hosted by the Library of Congress, provides free access to a collection of Aesop's Fables that have been adapted for children to read and enjoy online. With colorful illustrations and engaging storytelling, this site is a great resource for parents looking to introduce their children to these timeless tales. NOAA fisheries - provides information and resources related to the management and conservation of fisheries and protected species in the United States. Australian Institute of Marine Science - provides information and resources related to marine research, management, and conservation efforts in Australia. Whale and Dolphin Conservation - provides information and resources related to the conservation and welfare of whales and dolphins around the world. YOUTUBE There will be times that I will send links to useful videos. In order to access some of the resources you will need to have access to Youtube. You will not need to have a Youtube account and the links will be sent through the. Outschool platform.
