Do you love games? Do you love Christmas? If you answered yes to both, then this is the club for you! Grab your hot cocoa and let's play some games together! A Christmas game party is the perfect reason to get together with kids from all around the world! Each time you join me at my game table during this ongoing club, you will be able to interact with each other in an exciting game environment. Each class will vary depending on the games that are brought to the table, which makes for a more unique gaming experience each and every time you join me. PLEASE NOTE-Supplies are NEEDED, make sure to read the "supply list" section. This club is for 8-10 year olds. I also have a club for 11-14 year olds. Make sure you enroll in the right age group. This is an ongoing club, that will meet during the holidays. Once you sign up, you will start a "subscription" for this class. (Read through the end of this section to find out more information on how ongoing courses work through Outschool.) Based upon weekly enrollment, here's the 2020/2021 game party schedule- Week of November 22nd - movement & cards Week of November 29th - movement & words Week of December 6th - movement & challenges Week of December 13th - movement & conversations Week of December 20th - movement & cards Week of December 27th - movement & words Week of January 3rd - movement & challenges Games will be chosen at random, depending on the number of students that join me for the week. Games are subject to change, based on the weekly needs of the class. Some of the games that might make an appearance in class, but not limited to, include the following: •Clock Solitaire •Santa Says •Would You Rather, Christmas Edition •Frosty the Snowman Blackjack •Christmas Around the World Word Scramble •Tenzi •North Pole Mad Libs •SET •Christmas Lights WHAT ARE ALL THESE GAMES ABOUT? Clock Solitaire "A Keep Track of When Santa is Coming Game" to help players brush up on their analog clock skills. Clock Solitaire takes good old solitaire to the next level as cards are laid out to represent the face of a clock. Through gameplay, players will work together to get all the cards to the right *time* on the clock face before running out of luck. Will all 12 *times* be found before all 4 kings show up? Only one way to find out, join me for some Christmas gaming celebrations. Santa Says "AKA Simon Says" gives players a chance to listen carefully, and follow instructions only when Santa says. This game will get players up and moving. So make sure your device is set up to handle this, and you have space to move around. Would You Rather, Christmas Edition "A Popular Conversation Game" gives players a chance to get the conversation started in a fun way. Players will be given a dilemma with 2 possible ways in which they'd handle such dilemma. Which will they choose? And, how will the conversation go from there? Gotta play to find out! Frosty the Snowman Blackjack "An Outschool Classroom Version" gives players an opportunity to take some risks as they come up with a strategy that works best for cards dealt their way. Will they beat the dealer (that's me!), or go bust? Only one way to find out, join me! Kids may be split into teams, depending on how many come to class. This will give kids a chance to work together in this fast paced, high risk card game. I will teach the kids some hand signaling as they play through making decisions whether to "stand" or "hit". NO betting will take place in participation with this game. Just fun, cards, and some addition! Because players will be focusing on whether they keep taking risks, the math behind the game won't even be noticed. That's what makes this game even better. To help celebrate Christmas with some pizzazz, I'll pull out my Frosty the Snowman deck of cards for gameplay! Christmas Around the World Word Scramble "An Old Favorite" gives players a chance to work their sleuthing skills as they try to unscramble the letters presented to them, and be the first to solve them all. It will be spiced up with some holiday flair, but beware the elves are a tad bit more mischievous this time of year! Scrambled words will be sent through the chat, and players will race to finish the list first. Tenzi "Dice, Dice, and More Dice" is what this game is all about! Each player will need to have 10 6-sided dice ready for rolling! Tenzi is a popular game to have on hand at holiday gatherings, which makes it the perfect game for our celebrations. There are various versions of this game, and depending on the interest level during gameplay I will decide how many get to the table. All kids need to know is how to roll dice! A dice tray is recommended so kids don't have to scuffle around searching for the runaway dice. Tenzi versions that may make a special appearance include: Hop On One Footzi, Hand Behind Your Backzi, and No Thumbzi. Please, make sure ALL 10 dice are available for each day we meet. North Pole Mad Libs "A Zaney Word Game" gives players a chance to take on the role as the *writer* and help come up with words pertaining to a specific part of speech asked for. These North Pole stories might turn out to be insanely silly, way to serious, or just plain out ridiculous. Just depends on the *writers* who show up for class. SET "An Eyes and Brain Workout Card Game" that does exactly that! Because this has been a hit in my other classes, it is on the list for some Christmas in July gaming. Kids will give their eyes and brain a workout as we sit down at the table to play SET. Kids will work together and/or race against each other to find the most sets before the deck runs out. Sounds easy, right? But, it can be a challenge! Will your eyes play tricks on your mind? Only one way to find out, join me in class! Christmas Lights "A Tangled Mess of Bright Fun" is a card game that has numerous ways it can be played, depending on the amount of players in class. It's a card game full of surprises, where a power outage or broken bulb might sabotage card play. And, an appearance from Santa or Mrs. Clause might even happen as cards are turned over/dealt during this wacky mess of tangled fun. **A MINIMUM OF 2 STUDENTS IS NEEDED FOR GAMES TO COMMENCE.** Interested in a Christmas Games Galore party celebration with your friends? Ask me how you can set up a private session of ongoing classes just for that? I'd be happy to make all those gaming dreams come true! To help with gameplay, kids will need to know how to MAXIMIZE their computer screen. Please, make sure to go over this with them before they come to the first class. Because games will be picked randomly, kids will need to bring each of the following to EVERY class: ✓A pencil/pen ✓Paper OR notebook ✓10 6-sided dice (Amazon sells some pretty reasonable priced dice sets, if you are searching online.) ✓Their game faces! **IMPORTANT-I do need a minimum of 2 students in order to teach these classes. Once you enroll, please, keep an eye on the classroom announcements and discussion. This is where I will keep you updated on enrollment, and if I need to cancel due to not reaching this minimum. I will also send out messages, so make sure you are checking your email's spam folder, as some wind up there by accident. You can also find these messages inside your "conversations" by clicking the drop down menu on your Outschool profile.
